As a single woman over 50 with no relatives or friends to help to fix something, I find it very hard to own a home because I cannot fix anything myself. I had a home before and handymen took advantage of me and overcharged me and ruined my house instead of fixing it. It was very stressful. That is why I prefer renting a small apartment in new secure building. No break ins, no mold issues, zero stress and I do not need a huge wooden box exposed to elements and thieves. American homes are too big for a single minimalist. So after owning, I prefer renting.
