Regarding the NAR settlement, I’m in CA, it all more or less works like this any in my area anyway and has been. It seems like nothing is really changing other than MLS commission field gone and forced buyer agreement.

Edit: Watching more… very good advice regarding the lead up. Some I would have never have thought of.

My broker made the same predictions about open houses becoming more common and that communication between agents will increase (which was long overdue)

It would be cool to see you both on a call and talk about other predictions, ways to pivot and better our businesses!

  • @JoseMendez-zi7jh says:

Most listing agents do not want to hold open houses.

  • @MasaJazz says:

Listing agent is just going to charge the buyer 3% for representation if they go direct

  • @Veteran_Nerd says:

I’m stoked for this! I love holding Open Houses. Held 6 in the last month so far. I want to turn it into a daily task – Peyson Robertson inspired me haha.

  • @DVWTheRealtor says:

Very helpful information! How do we obtain the numbers of the neighbors in the community?

  • @thehardieway says:

Why the hell would I want to sit at an open house all day? Isn’t that the reason you become a listing agent? So you’re not stuck wasting your life with open houses and buyers? And especially since most of these buyers will probably be EXPECTING the listing agent to do their paperwork for free. How is that a benefit to a listing agent?

  • @UPSOUTHLIVINGINFLORIDA says:

I think eventually that open houses will be what you say they’re going to be. But, right now, most consumers, don’t even know what’s going on with NAR. I think it will take a while for them to possibly go to the listing agent.
