NEW TAX CUTS:
According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump highlighted six tax priorities, with the first being:
1. No Tax on Tips.
If passed, this would either change the definition of tips so that it’s not treated as income…provide a tax exemption or exclusion up to a certain amount – or provide a deduction against tips when a person files their tax return.
2. No Tax On Social Security.
Trump revisited his desire to eliminate federal income tax for social security recipients – and, even though current taxes bring in $50.3 billion – the reality is: around “half of all Social Security beneficiaries do not pay federal income tax on their Social Security benefits” – because, they don’t make enough money to begin with, at less than $25,000 per year.
3. No Tax On Overtime
Removing these taxes – entirely – could be a huge incentive for employees to take on more hours…or, as Trump Says: “The people who work overtime are among the hardest working citizens in our country and for too long, no one in Washington has been looking out for them.”
Of course, this would come at a cost of $1.7 trillion dollars of lost tax revenue over 10 years, but – if DOGE can successfully cut down on Government spending – then I see no reason why lost revenue would matter (especially when they’ve already saved over $1 billion dollars per day).
4. Renewing 2017 Tax Cuts
This means the tax top tax bracket will remain at 37% (versus the previous 39.6%) those amounts will more or less be adjusted to inflation every year, and we’ll get another round of 2017 tax cuts that were REALLY good for business owners.
5. Adjusting The SALT cap
This encompasses things like your state income tax, property tax, or anything else you pay within your specific city. Prior to 2017, this was completely deductible against your Federal Income – but not anymore. Starting in 2018, the MAXIMUM deduction you could take – for all state and local taxes – was $10,000 (not adjusted to inflation) which meant that residents in states like California, New York, and New Jersey were hit pretty hard. Now, these amounts could be raised to a higher level.
6. Eliminate Tax Breaks For Billionaire Sports Team Owners
When someone buys a business, they’re allowed to use the cost of the business to deduct against their personal income – and, if the “loss” is great enough – it could be carried forward into future years….guess what happens when you buy a $1 billion dollar sports team? Exactly: a potential $1 billion dollar write off.
Normally, this rule is meant to help business owners offset the cost of materials, equipment, and buildings that degrade and wear down over time – but in sports, you don’t have those worries – and, most of the money is made through advertising. This is why it's suggested to remove these write offs.
7. Carried Interest Loophole
This allows private equity, venture capital, and hedge fund managers to treat their income as ‘long term capital gains’ instead of ‘ordinary income’ – and the difference is massive. This isn’t the first time that the Carried Interest Loophole is up on the chopping block – and, it’s been CONSISTENTLY shut down time and time again – but maybe this time is different.
8. Tax cuts on products made in America
It's unclear exactly how this would work, but my guess is that this would entail some tax breaks for companies who manufacture their products domestically, or it could be some other type of incentive for people to purchase locally made goods and services.

BREAKING: TRUMP DECLARES MAJOR TAX CUTS
What You Must Know: The IRS is now considering renaming itself the “IRS-Not-So-Much.”
I(NSM)RS
does this mean i can stop pretending to be a church????
Lmaoo
Church allow tax free, it is time to cut 501c3
I’ve re-negotiated with my employer. I now make minimum wage and the rest of my salary is just a tip.
you’re smart for this! does that mean you pay very little tax?
Does this also mean your employer doesn’t HAVE to tip you? Personally, I’d rather have my full salary in my employment agreement and pay taxes. It’s legally binding.
So your employer can tip you? 😅
@@stocksxbondage Yikes, great point! Lol, I just want tax free income
This is my worst fucking nightmare as an accountant
You are missing something huge. If tips are allowed an equal tax deduction, then nothing changes, because Trump doubled the standard deduction. You would only benefit from the deduction if you itemized and not a single person working for tips makes enough to have itemizations that would exceed the standard deduction. So in actuality there would be no tax on tips for itemized, and 100% of the people earning tips would still owe the same tax on them they already pay.
@@PhikanetGaze I’ve worked tipped delivery work directly as an employee & as a gig worker. I had a ton of unreimbursed miles to deduct that was higher than my standard deduction. But then the last so-called tax cut wiped out my ability to itemize and did not increase my standard reduction enough. So I ended up paying more in taxes.
90% of the tips are on cards so they all get reported anyways.
I want my itemization back.
@PhikanetGaze most don’t understand this because they don’t take the time to educate themselves.
Please do a video on Medicaid, Medicare, Long Term care insurance and estate planning. Too many people are unaware of the cost of elder parental care. Imagine the people supporting two sets of parents while trying to raise children of your own.
New administration getting rid of lower costs on prescription prices for Medicare recipients was helpful for our costs. 😉
New business owner as of Feb 1st, also have an LLC now. Please please keep educating! I’m here to receive it all. Thank you!
Congrats!!
What’s your business
It’s not red vs blue its rich vs you.
These cuts seem to be very favourable for the poor too
@@365artchallenge key word “Seem”…
Exactly! Thank god for these tax cuts
@@365artchallenge how so?
@@365artchallenge income taxes cuts will help the rich more than the poor. Inequality will likely grow and we will see the costs of everyday things continue to rise. The working class and middle class will be paying proportionally more.
Not a chance most of these happen. It’s Trump guys, he didn’t look out for us the last time he did cuts for billionaires and none for the middle class lmao
Unfortunately, many of these financial YouTubers won’t bring this up.
The last time dude was in office, my taxes WENT UP. I’m sure this time will be no different.
I’d argue that most of this WILL happen. Renewing 2017 tax cuts has an extremely strong likelihood when Republicans control the House and Senate. The ‘No Tax on Social Security, Tips, Overtime’ will most likely have a LOT of caveats and fine print, and will be more difficult to push through. The ‘Carried Interest Loophole’ will have the most pushback, because it doesn’t affect that many people.
My plumber spins his tablet around… “Its just gonna ask you a couple quick questions” Tip $300, $350, $400? He only makes $7.50/hr.
Hourly: $1.00
Tip: $100
What if you back out of the tip 😮
So many don’t understand this applies to those making $400k+ (ish) a year. The middle and lower class will end up paying more, just like consumers will pay more w all the tariffs.
Tarrifs have been implemented for half of USA’s existence. I don’t think you really have the slightest clue on what you’re taking about
Yes! Yell this to the ones in the back!
Regular people still think Trump is out there to help them, there’s nothing you can say to make them see
4 years under a Democrat administration has cost me far more than tariffs will that ultimately benefit the country.
All these people hate Trump so much that they’d willingly get screwed by the democrats while watching the country burn. Literally.
@rjfootnews 100% because refusing to be wrong, is prioritized over seeing wrong.
Oh, the “tax cuts” that increased mine by $100 a month because it torched my itemized deduction from high work miles. The increased standard deduction was far from enough.
Yeah, I ended up paying more in 2018 and 2019 when I was in California thanks to the SALT caps..
The income tax needs to be lowered permanently and not set to expire. We shouldn’t pay more than 15% taxes.
I believe he’s pushing for a permanent cut!
Thank you for the update, Graham. I’m a firm believer in words are cheap, so let’s see the results. This is especially true for that guy…lots of claims and “coming soon”s, but nothing that actually benefits the working class. His prior actions do not give me any confidence that this will come to pass, as most of those prior actions benefitted the wealthy. But, if it does come to pass, then I will be pleasantly surprised. In the meantime, me and mine are circling the wagons and are trying to be cautiously optimistic, as should we all.
Only for the rich, not for the average American.
This will absolutely benefit me and I’m just an average American. So why not welcome it? Because it doesn’t apply to you?
Postal employees all over the country, including Puerto Rico, get double pay after 10 hours a day. Though, because of the state of our economy, the average person doesn’t have as much discretionary income to spend on packages as of late. As a result, my office has seen absolutely no overtime at all. These tax cuts won’t even help if there’s no work to get the overtime.
My wife works for Amazon and every single day, they’re being offered to leave early (without pay). Some days she tells me they have so little to do, they just stand around. Hire so many people as “full time” that there isn’t enough work to get anyone a full 40 hours, much less overtime.
im a postal employee. nobody wants to work “overtime” if they don’t have to. it shouldnt be “normal” to have to put in over 40hrs/week for a decent paycheck.
And it’s also it’s o lot slow rn bc the holiday season ended. But since it’s Tex season they will start shopping again.
I think the tip thing only applies to people who itemize their deductions which means you’d have to be making insanely huge amounts of money. This is just a tax cut for the ultra wealthy and will negatively impact the middle class. The goal of Republicans is to eliminate the middle class and to have extreme wealth and extreme poverty in the US. This is not a good thing.
7:21 to skip the ad 😊
I think giving a tax cut on social security benefits for wealthy retirees is such a bad idea. Why should be worried about wealthy older folks having even more money? Especially when that money is just gonna end up coming from younger struggling working people who can’t even afford a home. These types of tax cuts are great if you’re on the higher income distribution but it’s no surprise that the gap between the rich and the rest of us continues to widen.
I am 100% against not taxing old age security. Those people already fucked it up for everyone else and now they don’t have to pay taxes to make up for it?
