Biggest fake natty and fake rich guy on the internet

  • @hotrodhendrix1 says:

I once worked at a financial company while in my early to mid 20s. At one point the company made a bad move which cost them money and workers. I wrote up and explanation as to what could be changed under this new setup that would improve production. This letter I gave to the guy that it would matter to. Shortly after I was brought aside by my manager. Got the same chain of command. You are not allowed to even say hello in the morning to this individual. Within a week my suggestion was implemented as his great idea. Lesson was learned on my end.

Yeah, it’s easy to be a vapid TikTok financial influencer. It’s a lot harder to actually work for a living.

@@kevinh3238easy doesn’t mean anyone can do it. Getting generational wealth handed down to you is easy, you don’t do anything besides have rich parents. It’s about getting lucky, then it’s easy

    which episode of this?

  • @Steven-g6b says:

Same with me and law. All lawyers seemed bored and hated life. I’m a real estate agent, doing what gram did, just at 25 and not 18 like he did

I think I have officially reached this point in my life. I wanted to be a lawyer, I just graduated undergrad and was studying for the LSAT while also working at a law firm. Working at this firm, even as a lower level filer, has shown me how miserable the environment is and how unhappy so many of the attorneys are, especially the younger ones. It’s seriously hard to justify this path I’ve been on, and I seriously think I’m going to drop it and pursue my passion for health

  • @Cyrak1949 says:

I agree with a chain of command in terms of giving direction and delegating work. Like the CEO shouldn’t be coming to the desk of some random worker to tell them what project to work on, as there is probably a good chance they have no idea what other projects that worker is currently involved with, or if the worker will be the best fit for that particular project. It is why you hire middle management in the first place.

However, the idea that you can’t say hi and introduce yourself is crazy. I work construction so it’s a different atmosphere than investment banking for sure, but I have worked for some absolutely massive companies, I’m talking international scale companies, and the idea that if the CEO was on site, and I wanted to say hello to them, I would get told I couldn’t is just crazy to me. I get they don’t want everyone just dropping into the CEOs office to chat, but “You can’t say Hi” is insane.

It’s not the job title it’s the community, the work place environment

  • @themikecaselles says:

I had a health issue once and needed special approval to borrow my future PTO. HR gave me the email of the person who needed to approve. I had no idea who this was, but I sent a very respectful email, explaining the situation and asking for approval. He approved the request, but shortly after my manager called me and told me that was the #2 guy in the company and I skipped about 5 levels in the chain of command. I was told this reprimanded and I needed to follow the chain of command. He said, “You know you can’t just email the VP with stuff like this…” I said, “Well, he’s just a person, I don’t need to bow down to him…”. They didn’t like that at all…
