3 STUPID MISTAKES NEW REALTORS MAKE – KEVIN WARD

For the best training for new real estate agents or if you are in the process of getting your real estate license, go to .

When you’re a new agent, you are going to make mistakes. But the more you learn from others’ mistakes (and avoid them) the better off you’ll be.

Here are 3 stupid mistakes new realtors make:

1) Starting too slow.
It’s harder to succeed as a part-time agent (I talk about it HERE [link to old post]) because it takes too long to get all these things that matter- skills, confidence, street credibility, momentum, and market presence. If you want to make money fast, you must go all-in, full commitment as a professional.

2) Starting too smart.
Don't think for a minute that having some professional background in a related field will make you great as a real estate agent, because it's totally different actually getting people to hire you to sell their house for top dollar. It’s okay to start stupid, just get a coach or mentor who’s a top producer to train you.

3) Starting too stingy.
Don’t go out there looking for the lowest splits or refusing to split a transaction with a seasoned broker who can help you. Get the best support to help you get a lot of wins under your belt if you want to win in real estate. Think about the long-term.

Now that you know these mistakes, do whatever it takes to avoid them. Get yourself in the game, get success, and win!

I just found out about you yesterday, and I’m hooked on you already. Such amazing content and value. I just became a Realtor officially today.

  • @CourtneyWillis21 says:

Thank you for sharing this note. Her story sounds very similar to mine. I am/have been relying on Plan B. Now I have a position not making nearly as much, but I can pay my expenses and for a few tools necessary to assist me in getting my closings. I’m going all in because I want to be done w/ this dual life style asap. I’m all in Real Estate.

A valuable lesson for business and life, in general, is learning what not to do first. Yes, we all make mistakes and it’s important to learn from them and move on as quickly as possible, but if we do our homework and listen to experienced professionals like Kevin who take the time to share such useful and powerful knowledge from all they have learned, we can make better use of our time and make it count. That’s why it’s important that we all are willing to reach back after we achieve our dreams to help someone else achieve theirs. ✌😎

Thank you! For the past 3 weeks, I have been researching (deeply) how to start as a professional real estate agent who has knoweldge. I have yet to buy the courses online and study. The fact is; if I don’t know the field, what am I studying for? I am one who never dives head first into anything. I research, study and take classes before I begin studying for whatever the goal is. Well, I have chosen you as a mentor to learn from for the past 2 weeks. I have chose many mentor from whom I am getting what I need to know to be successful. I know more about real-estate today than I did 3 weeks ago. I have read multiple books, listened to interviews, watched videos and have taken extensive notes that I keep building on every day. I am looking forward to the next 3 weeks when I have the extensive knowldege necessary to be better than the 20% who do make it. I am very much interested in taking your seminar class when it is available and to sit front and center. I hope that you read this message and reply.

Just finding your content and it’s exemplary. I’m currently working on my PA real estate license (started 1/10/21 actually) and I’m learning so much. I’m so eager to dive more into your content and learn more from a mind such as yours. Blessings.

Your advice just convinced me to go with the Agency that offers me more training, support, and mentorship, compared to going with the smaller Agency with higher commission split. I spoke with both and at first the higher split was alluring. Now fully understanding the dynamic of what it means being a new agent I am 100% convinced having more support and mentorship with a successful agent is far more valuable. It’s not nessacarily what I earn, but what I will learn. Just like it’s not nesscarily what I know, but who I know… and what THEY know!

Thank you first time hearing you Kevin. I like you straight up approach I have been in the business for 11 yrs and I certainly agree that you need to do that to get Credibility. I think in this day and age you need to be different from the other agents to make them go after your service. I enjoyed your video.

I want to become a real estate agent. I found the information on this video very helpful and interesting. Currently, I am studying for the licensing exam. The class is covering agent client agreement forms. I am trying to understand the legalities of offering your commission to a buyers agent. How is that worded on the agreement form and would that make him a dual agent? If so as long as his state of license allows him to be a dual agent, that’s ok. Right? Please, be easy on me. I’m just trying to make sense of it all. Thanks for you help!

  • @deannasanders7256 says:

I have a question pertaining to this video lesson. I love your explanation on how to handle the buyer issue with FSBOs and I love how you teach honesty. I am wondering, however, what happens if you do not get the asking price and the funds the seller wanted or what if it does not sell in the time frame that you promise? How can we honestly say any of that will happen? Furthermore if any of the promises fall through, you now have a bad name for making promises you cant keep.Any thoughts on this?

  • @mjdntn says:

Kevin, I’m a brand new agent and this is so helpful. Thank you!

  • @Abby_cat47 says:

Thank you for being so open and honest. I’ve been investing in real estate, closing mortgages and doing titles but started first day as an agent today. This was really helpful.

  • @darinamendez4544 says:

You are so smart and energetic. And that’s how I want to start.. exactly how I imagine, but you put all those points in organized ideas and words. The real state is something that really passionate me, since I arrived to the United States 14 years ago. Now I decided to finally do it. It is my passion and I will give everything as you did. Thank you very much and I wish you much success 👍🏻
And for sure, you are going to be one of my mentors.

  • @eddiebotello330 says:

Thanks for your advice, Kevin. I am currently studying to get my license here in NJ. This was very insightful. I hope to find people like you along the way.

  • @user-homesales says:

Hi Kevin I been an RE agent for 8 months I been working with mostly buyers 3 listing appointments two of them wanted to sell, but did not qualified for a new loan, y the other one was not motivated to pay listing commission 😮! So far no sells, even with marketing myself on social media. I know it takes a lot of time and effort to get a new business going 😅
Thank you so much for your help ❤
