Real estate is one of the greatest career paths in the world (if you have what it takes!). Here’s a quick 5-point test to see if you should become a real estate agent.
Do not become a realtor if you are…
1. Lazy.
2. Impatient. If you think you’ll make a 6-figure income overnight.
3. A DIY-er. (Do-It-Yourself-er) If you’d rather figure it out on your own.
4. A Quitter. If you give up easily and just want to “try” it out.
5. Not driven. If you need somebody else to hold you accountable.
A real estate career is for you if you’re willing to work hard and get training & coaching from someone who already has the success that you want. And if you have a big dream, that will pull you through whatever failure comes your way.

You Nailed it. Real Estate is TOUGH! But, if you’re willing to work hard, the money can be GREAT. If I could do it again, I’d become an agent at age 18 & start buying investment properties.
Hey, you say you’d start real estate at 18? I turned 18 a month ago and am in my freshman year of college pursuing a Finance Degree. What are the benefits of starting at 18?
@Matthew Locke Hey Matthew, I’m starting at eighteen I am going to take my exam soon. The benefits are that most of the time your expenses aren’t high so if you don’t sell anything for a few months you’re not in big trouble. You get four years of experience by the time you’re 22. You also have lots of energy to hustle hard.
@Matthew Locke Because the earlier you start the farther down the road you are in terms of success. Some people live a mediocre lifestyle for over 20 years before they start. Why wait that long?
@Stephen Kershaw Truth! Thanks for sharing.
@Ty Wilde Utah Realtor & Home Builder Specialist why do i see your same comments on other random vids. Your suss bro.
I am an entrepreneur and have been in business for myself (brick and mortar) for 9yrs. 2 different industries and 5 locations. I am so pumped and ready to soak it all up! Started my classes and will be testing the end of Dec.
Every attribute you said is what and who we are as entrepreneurs, it’s what drives us and sets us apart from the 9-5ers who think we’re crazy lol But I love the entrepreneurial life and it has grown me into the risk taking driven persons my husband and I are today!
@Brandy Cruz how are you doing?
Not lazy ✅
Patient ✅
Able to learn from coaching and mentoring ✅
Never back down ✅
Ambitious AF ✅
I’m gonna make it y’all 💵 💴 💰 #igotthis
Yeeee bro
Me too🤚🏾😜
👍🏾
YOU GOT THIS 💕
Im on my licence but im not taking this on the light shoulder💯💯💯
This is motivating because it shares the possibility of people becoming discouraged and not being in the correct mindset to do this. Im taking my state test in Jan, and I have the option of a couple mentors when I pass. I believe one of the most important parts of this is being a good listener and remaining coachable, two of the things you mentioned. And for that, those are the most important things. Thx Kevin…I’m all ears next year. 👍👍
How’d things work out in your first year?
i am a quitter, but not with things i enjoy and love. i love this line of work & always wanted this since i was 8. i know it’ll be stressful but i want this to stress me out than customers in fast food yelling at me all day.
f*ck z customers…start doing what u wanted since ur childhood…don’t lose hope we r on ur side!!
How’s it going so far?
🙌🙌🙌
I didn’t know people aspire to be a realtor at 8, I probably didn’t even know what a realtor is.
@Gunjan Antil me too😂😂😂
Spent 20 years of my life watching my parents stress out over property. They making bank now, but the level of stress they had to deal with was always painful for me to witness
People don’t realise the level of stress you experience with this job. Actually I wanted an office job cause I thought it would be easier than layering bricks all day and breaking your back. Real estate will break your mind and in consequence your body from the stress if you aren’t fit for it.
@JINO JIKITOMO people take stress differently I don’t stress over anything nothing to stress about cuz everything plays out
Me 🙁 my family
@Jacob Montes ong 😤
It’s super hard on family life until your repeat business comes back. It takes years and years of hustle and stress. It is painful on family life. I hear you
I’ve bought 2 homes and sold 1 as a homeowner and never likes a go-getter attitude in agents. I found it overwhelming and unreliable.
What I valued a lot is good communication and following through. When I sensed that a realtor was genuine and honest with me then we had a bond.
Now I myself thinking about getting into real estate.
Everyone keeps putting pressure on a person. You’ve got to be this and you’ve got to be that.
I say what works for me every time:
*”I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”*
God Bless and all the best to you all.
♥️✝️♥️
Amen!!!!
I don’t know you, but if I can talk you out of going into realty, I think I’d be doing you a big kindness. Don’t do it. It’s a SLEAZY profession and I am happily watching it’s demise due to becoming obsolete.
Wow!! Tell me more because I have good personality and my friends keep telling me I would be. a great realtor and this sort of is distracting my other visions because I’m trying to focus on something that 1- does not mess with my anxiety, hustle mentality, and sap my energy and attention all day since i have other goals and dreams,. But need to find something that gives me great wealth of income to invest in things later so I wont need to work for no one and travel the world!

I love this video. He is keeping it real with everyone. He is trying to coach us and let us know that nothing is going to be handed to you. Which motivates me even more. Good video and I’m definitely subscribing.
These five factors are the reason why I have to be a real estate agent. I don’t want to be lazy anymore and not do anything‚ I am patient ASF‚ I am hungry for knowledge and learnings‚ I need to push myself forward and to never give up on life‚ and lastly‚ I want to be AMBITIOUSLY DRIVEN. I badly need a change in my life.
2023 UPDATE: Hello, guys! Thank you for your kinds words and motivating story/ies. Currently, I am enrolled in BS Real Estate Management and on my way to journey of becoming a real estate service practitioner. Wish me luck! And I wish everyone luck as well!
Thiss!!!!^
Amen. I feel the same. Best wishes! ❤️🙏🏾
Do it. I feel the exact same way, I need to take this leap. 22 and moving back home to TX to pursue a career in it
You gat this I believe in you💯💯💯❤️
Amen!! I’m taking my classes right now
I would like to also remind everyone that often, these negative traits are associated with general unhappiness, uninterest, or depression. For me personally, I’m hard-working, happy, patient, and passionate ONLY when I love what I do. Don’t just count yourself out as lazy or unenthused unless you possess those traits even while doing something you love/your passion. If you’ve never done anything you’re truly passionate about, you wouldn’t know how hard you’d work at it. Just try.
Wow so true
Definitely
I love this! Thank you so much!😭🤗👏
Facts 💯. People tend to work harder and think better when dealing with less stress.
Great video. Don’t forget that you could be lazy, impatient, a quitter, and not driven if you’re in the wrong field. Real Estate might be the field that drives you vs working a 9-5 and sitting in meetings all day.
Facts!
Exactly! I’m lazy and have quit so many things until I got into law enforcement and security. Loved it. Now that I’m in my 50’s it’s time for something new. My mother was a realtor, so I’ve seen it first hand. I used to hang out in her office as a teen. Plus I ran a traveling notary business for refinanced home loans. I believe I’ll do well in this field.
Your words gave me relief…otherwise this video has made me fall to the ground, as I have all these 5 things
makes so much sense.
I like this comment 👍👍
I agree.I have these traits but you have made me realize I need to work on the consistency of motivation. For everyone watching this video, always remember, we can work on our faults. However, some faults are easier to work on than others.
It’s less about motivation and more about discipline. Doing what you have to even when you don’t want to
you right
Even if you’re not going into real estate this video definitely motivates me & makes me want to do more
I actually LOVE this devil’s advocate side of the argument. Everyone’s always saying “you can do this, look at this side hustle, look its so easy. Just take a class and get licensed, etc etc” . But you actually make me question myself and through this self doubt I’ve come to the decision that I genuinely want to do this. Thank you for this.
I’m lazy but ever since starting real estate I felt more active and strive and push myself to my goal. Not giving up and striving for the best ain’t easy but anyone can get it done if you put time and effort into it
This is great video! I have always had an interest in Real Estate and I think this video is great to establish what is needed from my part to attain the goal of becoming a realtor. I think that this is the best perspective to look at the situation: (1) Motivated, (2) Patience is Key, (3) Be able to attain knowledge/experience from others. Great Job Kevin.
I absolutely love this video, I have been a realtor for just over a year now, I love the industry and see this a long term career, this video has helped me figure out what areas I need to work on the most to achieve maximum performance. Good luck to everyone:)
i’m a 16 almost 17 year old in 11th grade and I been wanting to become a realtor and this video was amazing and gave me so much knowledge, Wish me luck in life everyone👍
Likewise I’m in 11th grade and I’m hoping to make it big
Same I’m 17 any I think so far this is what I want
How everything going you tried it out yet ??
@Cory Holmes he just 17 so no
Good luck lhalha❤️
I’m 17 right now and I’m glad I came across your channel I could sense you would tell me what it is about this career and I know that I’ll succeed in this field as a kid always enjoyed more of the mundane task and had patience for things people i know haven’t and I’ve always wanted to help sell homes to people and see new places and people like this so I’m going to focus on graduating so I can get started.
This video is just what I needed to hear today. Thank you! I want to excel in the opposite of the 5 things you listed so I know I am on the right path. Thank you, I am excited to watch more vidoes by you and eventually join the agentpowerlaunch!
